We tested this item for power and everything worked great. We do not have the special software that is needed to fully test this machine. When turned on the unit goes through a quick self test and then reads ready on the digital read out. These units do not have encoders installed. You will need to get one installed if you want to magnetic encoding. The exterior condition of this item is great there are a couple scratches on the side but this does not affect functionality.
